About Me Nature's Play
Martha Kenna Nature's Play

Hello! I'm Martha, mother of two boys and founder of Nature's Play, an all-weather outdoor stay and play experience for under 5’s. It gives children the opportunity to play and learn in the most natural setting nestled in the woodlands. Nature's Play is based in the woodlands at Scraptoft Hill Farm.

There are so many benefits for children when spending time outside, including improving mental health, education on the environment and building imagination. At Nature’s Play there’s various stations providing different sensory experiences, including small world play, imagination time and messy play. The environment is an important factor at Nature’s Play, a large selection of the equipment and resources are either pre-loved or homemade.

As it is a natural environment parts of the ground are uneven and is best suited to walking toddlers, however some of the stations are suitable for older babies with parent supervision. All under 5’s are welcome to come and enjoy the fun at Nature’s Play!

The sessions run all year round so it’s important to arrive in appropriate clothing and remember, we will get messy so you might want to bring spare clothes for after the session! When we have had excessive rain, the path to the site can get particularly wet and muddy - wellies are highly recommended! It is stay and play, a parent/guardian is required to supervise children at all times. Lastly, due to the site being deep in the woods, the warmer weather brings the midges out! If you're prone to bites, please prepare with repellent.
